IS THE HONEYMOON!
Hello Cabo! Colin and I just booked our flights. 7 nights in San Jose del Cabo. This is the first time either of us have been to Mexico, and can't wait for all the relaxing we will be doing on sandy beaches. Perhaps check out some little baby sea turtles, surf, ride some zip-lines... the possibilites really are endless.
Then again, we may just lay on the beach all day.
Less than 50 days to go! We can't wait to see you all.
I have set aside a block of rooms for the nights of Sunday October 4th and Monday the 5th at the Historic McMenamins Kennedy school. 10 minutes out of downtown, this historic school turned resort is right in the think of the excitement of Portland, without paying the downtown prices. It also hosts a slew of amenities such as a truly unique
restaurant, multiple cozy bars, a
movie theater,
soaking pool, and even a working
brewery! This isn't your typical "Hotel"! McMenamins pubs and bars have a certain flair that must be expierenced when visiting Portland.
Check out the
website, and when you book your room as for the "Lobo, Kanewske Block"
CHEERS!
Here is a GREAT website to check out the posh downtown Portland hotels, if that is what you are looking for. We can guarantee that you will be happy with ANY of these places.

The Save the Dates are in the mail, and soon you will be wondering where you will be able to house your gigantic family for 4 days? Problem solved! Your best bet will be going through either "Historic Hawthorne Rentals", or just Vacationrentals.com. You can rent some pretty cool houses right in some of the trendiest parts of the city. These homes offer big kitchens, and lounge spaces, not to mention lots of sleeping arrangement options. The best part, is that you really can't beat the prices. If you like, Vickey Lobo (Jess' mom), would be happy to help you with your price negotiation, and booking needs, she loves this kind of stuff. We should be able to get the mid range prices, seeing that we are right on the cusp of off season. And if need be you can double up families in the larger houses, and have the kids sleeping in tents and sleeping bags on the living room floor! By renting a house instead of a hotel room, you are going to save bundles on feeding all those hungry mouths. You wont need to eat out for every meal when you have your own full sized kitchen. Not to mention these homes are in some of the coolest parts of Portland! You will be within walking distance to lots of awesome parks, ships, restaurants, etc.
So follow the links below, and have fun!

I do agree it is, oh, shall we say "super, dooper, ultra tacky" to publish your registries on your wedding invitation. Perhaps a hidden card, tucked away in a fold is acceptable. However, we found it unnecessary to flat out tell you that we want new towels for our wedding, and left it up to you to find this post. We have chosen to go with a few different registries that cover a few different price ranges and needs. Of course the safe bet was Target, which can be found pretty much anywhere. Macy's for if no better reason, than to make us feel like grown ups *chuckle*, and our personal favorite, CB2 (which is a division of Crate and Barrel). Think Ikea, but better quality stuff, and surprising low prices.
So have fun guys! We had a blast picking it all out. (see sock monkey, Target) Surprised?

So it looks as if the recommended hotel for the "grown ups" is the downtown Embassy Suits. It really is the nicest place for the price. However, you will be located a stones throw away from the lovely Chinatown. In the daytime hours it is fine, but can get a little "colorful" during the evening. Nothing to worry too much about, just don't be surprised if a homeless looking fellow asks for your spare change. :) If you are THAT worried about it, try the downtown Hilton, or Hotel Lucia. Follow the links bellow and figure out what works best for you.

There is no way you can come to Portland and not stay at the ultra awesome, hip, flippin' cheap Ace Hotel. It is in the Heart of downtown. Features stumptown coffee. Has an old fashion photobooth in the lobby. I mean...COME ON GUYS! If it were me, I would totally stay here. And share a shower with you.
